So I know when women usually blog about pregnancy they start right from day one, well I decided to just start sharing my experiences in my first stage of motherhood (pregnancy stage). I am in my 23rd week so far, only 17 weeks to go yahoo! Counting down the days till we meet this little guy! A little insight to my First trimester…. it was hard! When I got through the first stage of pregnancy I found a new respect for pregnant women. I never thought how hard it is growing a baby, I think I was a little naive before I actually experienced it, but oh man is it hard. I am not going to be one of these girls that sugar coats everything, and say it’s so easy, because reality check it isn’t. But then again every women is different. I like to tell people just how I am feeling! Whether it is good a or bad.
My first trimester was difficult, I was sick from day 1, morning to night. Whoever called it morning sickness, is wrong because it lasts more than just the morning, it’s ALL day sickness more like it! It was more of just feeling like i needed to puke or just the nauseous feeling. I only actually threw up a hand full of times. Also in the first stage of pregnancy you are always tired, and I have a pretty demanding job. I am a cook at a restaurant which is long hours, no breaks, and a go go go atmosphere! So it was hard to adjust to working and being pregnant, but I got through it!
Another pregnancy symptom that I defiantly noticed and so did others was I had a shorter temper than normal and would just find myself going off at anyone and everyone! Sorry everyone that got yelled at…..Once I entered into my Second trimester, things started to look up 🙂 the nauseousness started to go away and my energy returned. Which I was so happy for because I am such a go, go type of person and just being so tired was so annoying! but worth it because hey you are growing a baby and that’s pretty darn AMAZING!
WEEK 23
How far along? 23 weeks
Baby’s size? A Grapefruit
Total weight gain/loss: In the first trimester I lost a lot of weight like 10 pounds! So in the second trimester I have just started to gain my weight back
Maternity clothes? No maternity clothes for this gal! Not yet anyways hehehe…
Stretch marks? Nope!
Sleep: Sleeping pretty well, other than the occasional wake up call at 3 AM to pee. Also always sleeping with my trusty body pillow, such a life saver.
Best moment this week: Getting to go home and visit the family, show off the growing belly and bought our first baby item…the CRIB!!
Miss Anything? I wanted Sushi the other day, so I can’t wait to eat that once baby is here
Movement: Yup moves so much, I felt movement since 17 weeks 🙂
Food cravings: I don’t really crave anything, it was kind of a let down not getting the crazy pregnant women cravings that you hear about. Only real thing is water, it’s like I get an urgency to drink it.
Anything making you queasy or sick: No queasiness in sight!
Gender: Boy, but we are waiting to our next ultrasound to make sure, sure!
Labor Signs: None
Symptoms: minor cramping (aka round ligament pain – completely normal) and always feeling stuffed! Cannot eat more than little snacks at a time
Belly Button in or out? In!
Wedding rings on or off? On.
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy with the occasional crying sesh or angry meltdown. Thanks a lot hormones!
Looking forward to: Decorating the nursery, I’m so excited to decorate!!!
